This iconic model might be the best platform that BMW ever built. It is 70% more rigid than its predecessor the E36. Aluminum was used to reduce unsprung weight. Add to that the dual Vanos M54B30 ZHP platform and you have a very nimble and powerful drive.

I acquired this baby in 2012 with 113,000 miles. Had zero experience with BMW at the time. There were some very educational problems that needed to be solved. It took about a year to get these problems sorted out. 

Today the car has 385,000 miles on it! it has been converted from a  base model 325i to a 330 ZHP with a tune and an Eriksson Industries reman ZF5HP19 transmission. 

The entire suspension has been replaced along with new breaks, shocks and struts and wheel bearings.
